Pipistrello Med LED table lamp brown, dimmer by Martinelli Luce In 1965, architect and product designer Gae Aulenti designed the world-famous Pipistrello table lamp. Gae Aulenti is known for many of her architectural masterpieces, such as the renovation of the Musée d'Orsay in Paris and the restoration of the Palazzo Grassi in Venice. She has also collaborated with Artemide, Louis Vuitton and, of course, Martinelli Luce. The lampshade is reminiscent of a bat's wing, hence the name "Pipistrello", which means bat in Italian. Like many post-war designers, Gae Aulenti is fascinated by the avant-garde scene, which is also reflected in her experimental lamp designs. The base of the light is made of lacquered metal, a stainless steel telescope that helps you adjust the height of the light, and an opal white methacrylate lampshade. Timeless Pipistrello Med table lamp with cable dimmer Whether vintage, modern or creative – the Pipistrello Med LED table lamp is a high-quality, attractive accessory that harmonises with numerous contemporary interior design concepts. The Pipistrello ("bat") series was designed back in 1965 by Italian architect and designer Gaetana "Gae" Aulenti (1927–2012). Since then, manufacturer Martinelli Luce has been producing the series of lights in impeccable quality. The concave base consists of a lower section made of lacquered aluminium and an upper, extendable section made of stainless steel. This is topped by a semicircular lampshade made of opal methacrylate, which is divided into four sections and emits an even light when in use. The integrated LEDs can be controlled via the dimmer switch on the cable. - Height adjustable from 50 to 62 cm
