Aesthetically designed Suspence™ pendant light - Design: GamFratesi In 2013, the design duo GamFratesi - consisting of the Danish architect Stine Gam and the Italian architect Enrico Fratesi - created this decorative pendant light for the renowned Danish company FRITZ HANSEN, which has been synonymous with high-quality design products in the furniture and lighting sector for almost 150 years. Many well-known designers, including GamFratesi, Arne Jacobsen, Cecilie Manz, Bodil Kjær and Verner Panton, have worked for the FRITZ HANSEN company over the decades, which was family-owned for almost 100 years before it was 75% taken over by Skandinavisk Holding in 1979 and led into a successful future through numerous innovations and investments. The shape of the Suspence™ aluminium shade is inspired by Nature: GamFratesi took a drop of water floating in the air as their model and translated its movement into a physical form. The result is a pendant light with a soft, rounded form that emits glare-free light from the bulb used through the integrated plastic diffuser. Suspence™ can be used for general or area lighting. It provides cosy dining table lighting, for example.

Lamp Masters

Suspence P1 Pendant Matte Black is an incredibly simple and elegant pendant with a highly organic shape. GamFratesi have translated a movement to a physical shape by figuring out what happens when you pull certain materials. This discovery is reflected in the top of the Suspence lamp that gives the impression that the cables have been pulled through the lamp. Another effect of this is that the lamp and cable have the appearance of being a single component. Inside the lampshade there’s a diffuser that can easily be removed to insert the bulb. This diffuser prevents the light from blinding, and its arched shape leads to an optical illusion, making the lamp appear matte on the inside. Hence the name Infinity Diffuser™.
