Suspence™ hanging light in Scandinavian style The design of the Suspence™ pendant light draws on Scandinavian functionalism, which focuses on form and function while achieving a perfect symbiosis with aesthetics. GamFratesi, the creative minds behind this lamp design, were inspired by the movement of a water droplet floating in the air. The result is a soft, flowing lampshade made of aluminium that radiates perfect harmony. The light emitted by Suspence™ directly downwards through a white polycarbonate diffuser also has a harmonious effect. This is ideal for illuminating a table, for example. GamFratesi is the name combination of architect Stine Gam from Denmark and architect Enrico Fratesi from Italy, who, thanks to their cross-cultural backgrounds, can draw on both the classic Danish design and craft tradition and the classic Italian intellectual and conceptual approach. A minimalist design language characterises GamFratesi's designs. This fascinating pendant light, which suits many modern interior designs, is produced by Danish manufacturer FRITZ HANSEN, a company founded in 1872 by carpenter Fritz Hansen when he obtained a trading licence for Copenhagen. As early as the first half of the 20th century, FRITZ HANSEN was known for its first-class quality in furnishing larger projects, such as the Supreme Court in Copenhagen, the University Library and the City Hall in Copenhagen. FRITZ HANSEN has always collaborated with renowned architects and designers, including Arne Jacobsen, Anne Qvist, Bodil Kjær, Cecilie Manz, Hans J. Wegner, Christian Dell and many others. After almost 100 years of being solely family-owned, 75% of the company's shares were transferred to Skandinavisk Holding in 1979, which led the company into the new millennium with extensive innovations.

Suspence P2 in Matte Black is an incredibly simple and elegant pendant with an organic shape. GamFratesi has translated movement into a physical form by figuring out what happens when you pull certain materials. This is clear from the top of Suspence, which gives the impression that the cable has been pulled through the lamp. It also seems as though the lamp and the cable are one and the same component. Inside the shade is a diffuser which is easy to remove when putting in the bulb. This diffuser ensures that the light is glare-free and its arched shape creates an optical illusion that makes it appear as though the lamp is matte on the inside. Hence the name ‘infinity diffuser™’.
